Heads of House

Sophia Kehoe – Aqua House

Welcome to house AQUA! My name is Miss Kehoe, and I am the very proud first head of house Aqua!

I could not have wished for a stronger team, and I am so excited to get to know all of the staff and pupils in my house! Each of you is incredibly valuable to our team. Whenever you are sat with the rest of the house, you will be sat with friends. We will support one another in every way we can.

You will hear our house before you see us at competitions as we cheer on and support every pupil, no matter their house, at every event. Pupils in house Aqua push each other to work harder, look smarter and be kinder every day. Pupils in our house will pick themselves up after failure, congratulate our opponents and learn from our mistakes, so that eventually, we WIN!

I cannot wait to see you competing at the house events! … and to compete alongside you! I will always be here to support you, and so will the rest of your house. Let's go for it!

Miss Kehoe

Chyna Armson – Ignis House

Hello,

I am Miss Armson, and I am the proud Head of Ignis house. I have been at Nuneaton Academy since 2021, teaching history after growing up in the local Nuneaton community.

The name of our house is derived from the Latin word for ‘fire’, one of the elements of nature. This is a fitting name for our house as we strive to be lights in our local community. Additionally, our house symbol is a tiger. The tiger is a reflection of strength, courage, respect and fearlessness. As a house, we hope that these are characteristics that all of you can show and develop through your everyday academic experiences and throughout house competitions.

Within the house system, you will have the chance to lead, represent and support your team. In Ignis, we are a team, and we are united whether it is through participation or being the loudest cheer for your peers. In Ignis house we show our pride, determination and respect in everything that we do, whether this is in the classroom, on stage, on the sports field or at home.

Everyone has a place to belong in Ignis. This is our house, and it is our year to shine.

Let’s go!

Emma Wright – Orbis House

Orbis: Latin for earth, the world, and circle.

I am Miss. Wright, current Head of Orbis House.

Orbis is a word that carries the essence of unity, completeness, and infinite possibilities.

Students in Orbis house are full of curiosity, integrity, and aspiration. We are open-minded individuals who persevere to be the best of the best. With our creativity, imagination, and commitment to the school norms we will come out on top! In Orbis house we are leaders who demonstrate empathy and compassion at all times.

Orbis isn’t just about individual growth; it's about our collective journey as well. Look around you—each one of your classmates and teachers is a part of your Orbis. Together, we form a supportive, interconnected community. When one of us shines, we all benefit from that light. When one of us struggles, we all rally to lift them up. This unity is our strength.

As we gather here in our school, a place where knowledge and growth come full circle, let’s embrace the spirit of Orbis in everything we do.

As we move forward, let’s carry the spirit of Orbis with us. Let it remind us that our journey is infinite, and our potential is boundless. Together, we can create a world of learning and growth that knows no limits.

Let’s make this year incredible!

(And win the house cup of course!)

Ventus Head of House

Jonathan Parker – Ventus House

My name is Mr Parker, and I am the proud Head of Ventus House at Nuneaton Academy.

Welcome to the best house in the school.

It is a real privilege for me to have this opportunity and I can promise you I will do everything I can to bring success to every member of my house.

Ventus is the Latin for 'wind' and it is my aim for us to bring the winds of change at Nuneaton Academy for every single student. To help you grow your aspirations,  to realise your potential and to create successful and happy lives for yourselves.

Our mascot is the eagle, which is fitting as there are many qualities of the eagle that Ventus members demonstrate.

Every member of Ventus should aim to be a high-flyer. To have high aspirations, be the very best you can be and soar above the rest. We should have the vision to know how our lives at Nuneaton Academy will shape our futures and make plans to create successful times ahead. The peripheral vision to notice those around us who need support.

We have the fearlessness to take on any challenge in front of us, the tenacity to keep going even when it gets tough and the strength to be kind and help others along the way.

I welcome all students to the Ventus family who are keen to spread their wings and take on new experiences with enthusiasm and respect. During your time at Nuneaton Academy, I want your focus to be on success and happiness. There will be so many opportunities for you this year, so make sure you take every single one and celebrate all in Ventus that do. Whether it's excelling in your studies, contributing to the school community or pursuing extra-curricular passions, Ventus students will always reach the greatest heights.
