This page will show all the information and links as we send them out to Year 6 pupils who will be joining us at Nuneaton Academy.
We are so pleased you have chosen to join us and wanted to provide you with information about the school to help you to look forward and get ready for joining Year 7.
Starting a new school can bring with it a few anxieties and we hope by giving you information and a point of contact you will feel ready to make this move.
On this section of our website we will provide you with information to enable this to be a smooth transition from Year 6 to Year 7 for you and your child.
All our new Year 7 children will be in a Form Tutor group with other Year 7 children. In May and June we will busy contacting all the Primary schools and in particular the Year 6 teachers who are providing us with information to help ensure every child has a supported start at Nuneaton Academy. They will even let us know what friendship groups work well together so children don’t need to worry about not knowing anyone on their first day.

YEAR 6 LEGAL TRANSITION FORM
You should have received this in the post. If you have not received it please contact the school. Please complete and return to reception F.A.O Mrs Downes.
This will ensure that we have your up-to-date information ready for your child attending Peek at 3 Days in July and when they start in Year 7 in September.

Year 6 Transition Days
The Transition days will take place on Monday 8th, Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th July.
Children can arrive from 8.15am for a prompt start at 8.40am. They will finish at 3pm on Monday and Tuesday and finish at the earlier time of 2.45pm on Wednesday. During these three days, we will be providing the children with a range of activities to help them settle into their new school, meet other pupils, and get to know key members of staff. At Nuneaton Academy we want every child to experience our Nuneaton Norms of Respectful, Responsive and Resolute.
A few points to note about the transition days:
We would like all children to attend Nuneaton Academy in their normal school PE kit.
We will provide lunch in the Main Hall every day, where all the new pupils can eat and sit together. If children prefer, they can bring and eat their own packed lunch in the family lunch hall.

Monday 8th July : Tomato pasta & Garlic bread

Tuesday 9th July : Fishfingers, chips & Beans or Chips & Beans

Wednesday 10th : Chicken/beef/veggie burger & wedges.
Please note that we are a nut free school:

We would suggest that children bring a drink/water bottle and a break time snack with them. NO energy drinks please.

Bring a bag with a pencil case in it as we will have some lessons in a variety of subjects.

We do not allow the use of mobile phones at any point in the school day. If mobile phones are brought to school, we expect them to be switched off all day and in a school bag. We do not accept responsibility for mobile phones should they be lost or damaged during the school day.
Year 6 Information Evening
This will be held in the Main Hall on Wednesday 3rd July 5pm.
